I have examined the accompanying Ordinance intituled

An Ordinance to make provision for determining the date of the ter-

mination of the present war, and for purposes connected therewith

and I aim of opinion that the Ordinance is one which is not contrary to the

Governor's Instructions.

2.

The object of this Ordinance is to make provision with reference

to the fixing of the date of the Termination of the Present War both

generally and as between His Majesty and any particular State and

in accordance with the Home Act, 8 & 9 Geo. 5, ch, 59, it is enacted

that such date shall be the same date as is declared by His Majesty

by Order in Council under that Home Act. At the same time,however,

an exception is made (as in section 1 of the Home Act) in the following

case,
